Objective: Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Technician will be responsible for effective repair of machinery, equipment, and components at high levels of quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Repair and recondition all equipment components and systems as assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment and vehicles, including cleaning and returning to original location after use.
  • Perform diagnostic inspections as directed.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned by Service Manager or Service Writer.
  • Work with parts department to order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs.
  • Complete all repairs as assigned in a safe and effective manner.
  • Return all equipment to customer clean and without cosmetic defects.
  • Return all parts and materials not used per guidelines.
  • Maintain safe practices and personal work space in a safe order for yourself and others.
  • Maintain record keeping as necessary, including collection of equipment information, serial number, hours, bale count, and/or working hours.
  • Input a detailed repair story via time clock.
  • Keep all records legible and in compliance with established methods.
  • Complete all additional tasks required by the Service Manager, as needed.
  • Utilize electronic service manuals to ensure equipment is repaired effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

  • Technicians are responsible for owning a set of approved tools.
  • Ability and licensing to drive to other locations to work on equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, twist, balance and climb as needed.
  • Ability to complete proper documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Agricultural knowledge/experience is an asset

Competency:

  • Medium level computer literacy.
  • Keen eye for detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Extremely organized with good time management skills.

  • Work the hours necessary to perform the job.
