Position Summary: Reporting to the Corporate Parts Director, the Parts Manager will be responsible for managing employees in the Parts Department at their specific location, and profitably leading the operation of the Parts Department to meet the needs of our customers and potential customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Secure high level of client satisfaction by maintaining top quality service through observation and coaching.

  • Manage all aspects of the training, performance management and strategy for ongoing learning of parts personnel. Including onboarding, interviews, annual performance reviews and training. Work with corporate management on progressive discipline.
  • Provide a positive working environment, taking pride in the personal and dealership appearance.
  • Ensure the personnel, parts counters, and inventory maintains an image of cleanliness and professionalism.
  • Arrange cross training is done to confirm the department is effectively covered for all positions. Including any applicable on-line or in person trainings.
  • Control the investment in parts inventory and monitor and maintain proper inventory control practices

    • Vendor returns – based on parameters set for main-line and short-line manufacturers.
  • Effectively managing Parts Department expenses, including employee overtime, maximizing store hours while minimizing overtime.
  • Accurately and efficiently look up parts for customers.
  • Participate and effectively contribute to managing part inventory control.
  • Contact customer(s) regarding pricing and delivery, including follow up after inquiry.
  • Effectively manage log for lost sales.
  • Run cash register and credit card machine for parts & retail purchases.
  • Establish strategic goals and expectations, and effectively communicate them to Parts Department personnel.
  • Organize and lead vendor specific purchase programs throughout the year. e. pre-season orders or specialty programs released by vendors (New Holland, Kinze, Claas etc.)
  • Communicate with Service Managers, Parts Department, and Sales Departments as needed.
  • Delegate tasks as necessary to ensure maximum employee involvement in improvement efforts.
  • Attend to store responsibilities as needed.
  • Complete all additional tasks required by the Management, as needed

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory qualities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large inventory
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, twist, balance and climb as needed.
  • Agricultural knowledge/experience is an asset

Competency:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements

  • Keen eye for detail and numerical accuracy
  • Extremely organized with good time management skills.
