Position Summary: Reporting to the store Parts Manager, the Parts Associate performs a variety of customer service duties and will be responsible for marketing, identifying, promoting, researching, stocking, and selling parts to existing and potential customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Effectively and accurately check in and stock parts from OEMs, vendors, suppliers and transfers from other stores.
  • Accurately and efficiently look up and identify parts for customers, researching alternate options where appropriate.
  • Provide expert knowledge about part features and benefits to effectively upsell.
  • Ensure high level of client satisfaction by maintaining top quality customer service through critical listening, observation, and coaching. Including but not limited to:
    • Phone etiquette
    • In-person interactions
    • Electronic communications
    • Carry-out service
    • Participation and support in the Parts Department Emergency After Hours Program.
    • Specialty customer services: including fabrication/repair of hydraulic hoses, PTO shafts, and battery cables.
  • Effectively contribute to the parts counter and inventory, maintaining an image of cleanliness and professionalism.
  • Provide a positive working environment, taking pride and contributing in the personal and dealership appearance.
  • Participate and effectively contribute to and managing part inventory control. Including but not limited to aiding in ordering, maintaining stock levels, and OEM returns.
  • Contact customer(s) regarding pricing and delivery, including follow up after inquiry.
  • Effectively record log for lost sales within company business system.
  • Run cash register and credit card machine for parts & retail purchases.
  • Communicate with other departments, as needed, to ensure customer and company needs are being met.
  • Attend to store responsibilities as needed.
  • Communicate with customers regarding new products, availability, to ensure the dealership remains the premium provider.
  • Complete all required dealership trainings, including staying current on equipment knowledge for new and emerging products both in parts and retail.
  • Contribute to store safety initiatives as needed (including safe forklift operations, ladder usage, etc.).
  • Complete all additional tasks required by Management, as needed

Requirements:

Education / Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability in customer service and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, twist, balance and climb as needed.
  • Agricultural knowledge/experience is an asset

Competency:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Medium level computer literacy
  • Keen eye for detail and numerical accuracy
  • Extremely organized with good time management skills.
  • Support company policies and values as outlined the Company Handbook.
  • Consistently exhibit professional attendance habits and work the hours necessary to perform the job.
